Welcome! I am a theologian and biblical scholar with particular interest in storytelling as theology. I am interdisciplinary in approach, working in the fields of theology, biblical studies, literature, and philosophy. I am a Candidate for Holy Orders in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Beginning May 22, I will serve as Assistant Professor of Old Testament at Church Divinity School of the Pacific.
My book The First Five Books: The Invitation of the Pentateuch’s Stories (Baker Academic) illuminates the artistry of the Pentateuch and invites readers to wrestle with some of the most remarkable stories of ancient Israel. Read more about my writing here.
I received a Doctorate in Religion, Theology (Theology) from Baylor University and Masters in Theological Studies, Old Testament/Hebrew Bible at Regent College (Vancouver, Canada).
